Well, that's all very classy and inspirational, but I stand by the assertion. I don't stand there and fight - haven't since I learned in ToME 2.3.x that standing and fighting is generally bad practice unless you're vastly faster than your enemies (hack and back instead) or greatly outlevel them, or ...

Why couldnt we convert them to ogg ? It's generally not advisable to convert from lossy to lossy. However, I suppose it'd work for simple music and sound effects. We can play mp3 is need be anyway. Well what do you used macros for ? If just the basic cast macro with target selection then it'll work just fine with the targetting system and the hotkeys I believe. True, if the casting system is totally overhauled, then macros are pretty much moot anyway. I haven't felt the need to look into whet...

1) you can press backscape to go back I'm not at a machine where I can roll up a test character right now, but if I recall I wasn't able to do so after I got to stat and ability-purchase screens. 4) not yet, not sure it is needed, is it really ? Perhaps not for all players. I'm a bit... indecisive....
