Here is my charactor.

This makes me frustrated to play any shooting class like archer, skirmisher.

I was just lv 30+, I can't image how frustrating to charactors at max level with all sorts of powerful gears equipped.(probably half shot killed)

Is this kind of dumb death common or just because I was very unlucky?

I have heard people dead because of their own powerful shoot(e.g. Vital Shot), but never thought I would kill myself with a simple shoot.

I don't like this kind of death, this setting is making player much more painful than making player more careful.

This happens all the time. You fire a bow, the opponent pulls you towards himself right into the projectile's path and the next thing you see is Eidolon Plane. This can happen with any non-instant projectile (including spells), and even a normal Shoot can kill you if you were wounded before shooting. You even scored a crit against yourself. A nasty death indeed, but no bug.

There a talent called "Shoot Down" which makes you immune to your own projectiles even with a single point invested. However, the talent's category (Techinque / Reflexes) is available to Archers and maybe some other classes, but not to Gunslingers.

Without know how injured you were before you fired those last shots, we can't really comment.

Of course I was at full health.

Full health, no buff, one normal shoot action, I died, that is why I am so frustrated.

I barely got killed by my own abilities, and never did that when I was at full health.

Honestly that kind of friendly fire is too frustrating, wish we had ways to avoid that.

Shoot down NEEDS to be removed from NPCS. Ive oneshot myself plenty of times on like 5 different characters, either from shoot down or abduction. Died on 2 Psyshots from shoot down, but luckily I had blood of life on both. Lost my Gunslinger to my own vital shot after I got abducted. Also even tho it was an adventure character my Skrimisher died 3 times to his own vital shot. Vital Shot is NOT a viable prodigy on any of the ranged classes except TW & Archer on roguelike mode. Skrimisher, which is the worst of the ranged classes & possibly one of the worst in the game is punished by not being able to take this great prodigy and has to resort to PES/AM/defensive prod. Something really needs to be done about it cuz Vital Shot is great, but it's just not viable without oneshot protection. And towards the end of the game if you don't have blood of life/rod you have to manually inspect every monster you come across to make sure they don't have the shoot down talent. There is no counterplay, and it has nothing to do with skill either. Either you inspect every monster or risk being killed by your own shot as a Psy/Gunslinger/Skirm.

As a monster talent, Shoot Down has absolutely nothing to do with self-kills like the one in the OP. It is a strictly defensive talent. As a player talent, it prevents such deaths.

It has to do. The problem is that it slows projectiles and makes you more vulnerable to self-kills.
But I do not think that it should be removed. Having ammos slowed down is a one of the drawbacks of archers and it must be kept; archers do not need a buff.
I would rather give *all* archers immunity to self damage (maybe with the shoot talent). It adds absolutely no interest in the game (except some rare situations where you grab an archer in order to have him self damaged).

If you use shoot down while the projectile is on a tile occuped by someone, that someone will take the projectile damage. So if you shoot and your projectile is shot down before leaving your tile you take damage from your shot.

No, like Cathbald said it shoots your projectile down on your own tile and kills you. It protects archers yeah, so they can't get killed by their own projectile, same with TW. But Skirm, Psyshot, and Gunslinger can all be one shot by their own shoot talent with shoot down.

Had this happen with several deaths.

The last time, to my amazement, was with a level 50 gunslinger who had won EoR and went into the ID. Got place swapped by a paradox using rare after I had fired Vital Shot, and I died instantly. Asked the Eidolon to return me. Instantly died again.

So I wasn't sure if it was a bug, or if it was the second shot, since gunslingers fire twice. Does the shot get removed from the game when you die, or did I die to the same shot which was still occupying that spot after I died the first time?

Lesson learned though, ask to be returned to a different place on the level.

Projectiles don't get removed when you die.

Yep, my recent try to play gunslinger ended at a point, where I moved to a target after Awesome Toss - I had no idea it can hit you lol. While I should, I admit.
