I couldn't find a really good answer on this in my forum searches, so here it is~
How much does game difficulty effect artifact finding rate~ I know higher lvls of difficulty have more rare/unique monsters, but do those monsters have an increased rate artifact drops, due to higher difficulty, or are they set at a static % chance of drop across all difficulties?

I don't have a precise answer, but I believe that loot quality and quantity increases with monster rank, so a higher difficulty should mean better drops overall. I know that random bosses (insane or madness) always drop at least one random artifact (orange) item, and I believe they have the same chance as a fixed boss for droping a fixed artifact, excepting those bosses that have an increased chance to drop a particular thematic fixedart.

So, definitely yes for randarts, maybe-probably for fixedarts, afaik.

Game difficulty doesn't appear to have any bearing on artifact drop rate, as far as I can tell, unless it's in some odd sub-function of the main call. It seems to be entirely a function of monster rank. So yes, higher difficulties produce more artifacts, because there are more high rank enemies, but no, rare monsters don't produce better quality drops on Madness than on Normal.

I'm not a code expert but i've played a bit on higher difficulty levels and power level of characters on higher difficulty levels is MUCH higher

1) you reach max level early
2) a lot of rare / unique / boss mobs = more items to choose from
3) rolls on ego seems to be higher in comparison to for example normal difficulty levels. I just died with many items from valut still in my inventory https://te4.org/characters/104175/tome/ ... 243c59fed2 and these 2 x greater ego / rare drops (very common) are insane. Many normal dificulty winners would benefit a lot from such drops but on higher difficulty they are considered "trash"
4) you can easily buy 7+ custom made randarts from merchant. They are not as impactful as you might think but you would have to be really unlucky to roll "trash" item 7 times in a row

Tbh artifact drop rate doesnt really matter because for almost every slot there will be a better randart than any artficat you can possibly find (Dakhtun's Gauntlets are still great :D)
