Hey, I'm a newbie to the game. I just finished a Stone Warden playthrough and now I'm trying out a Cornac summoner. I'm at level 13 with a point in each summon, but I was wondering which summons pay off the best when maxed out. They all look fairly equal, but I just want to make sure it's a playstyle preference and I'm not screwing myself over for later. Thanks for any advice!

Fire drake is probably the best, huge AOE as well as extra baby drakes when used with grand arrival. Other then that, most of them have their niche, and I don't think any of them are really bad to max if you like using them.

My most often used trio is the drakes, followed by ritch and hound which both support the drakes really well.

If you play carefully that's all you need, though it helps to have some meatshields as well.

Be sure to invest on grand arrival to give your summons some special stuff, like the drake hatchlings.

The only summon that's a waste to max is Jelly. It's a great summon, it just doesn't gain anything meaningful going from 1/5 to 5/5. Other than that, I think that Hydra is the worst, but even it can be a solid member of your team at 5/5.

I'd max the Hydra and the Jelly over that bloody tree any day.

Hydra's a nice opener, but since it's very frinedly fire aware, it's useless in bigger crowds. You have to make sure absolutely no allies are in its line of fire, or it'll just bump, and its bumps aren't much good.

The tree is actually really powerful if used properly, you have to be aware of the friendly fire but it does a ton of damage with some decent crowd control.

The tree is your AOE freeze bomb, with the tree in play you can station a Spider and a Ritch on the outside and toast rooms full of enemies, if that doesn't finish things off then throw in a drake to clear up the remnants instantly.

Drake, Ritch, Hound were my 3 with Minotaur a close 4th. Turtle was a good filler for when my summons were dead and on cooldown.

Winddbourne, how often do you fight in spaces open enough to drop a tree and have a spot to park the ritch outside the aura where it can still shoot?
