Gourmand Evolution for Writhing One

#1 Post by Recaiden »

Adds Gourmand as a new class evolution prodigy for Writhing Ones. Find it here.
Gourmand is focused on the Slow Death tree, allowing you to consume a victim to keep their stolen talent permanently (but only three at a time). Eat up!

Adds Hollow as a new class evolution for doomed. Become an undead shadow yourself.

Bug reports, questions and comments are are greatly appreciated, as always.

I think evolution should change the play method of class, normally lose some skillls then get new skills and stats.
Hollow is a good idea, but Gourmand do not change anything?
after upgrade the addon, I can not load the Gourmand evolution. something wrong?

Messing around with the evolutions mainly through addon shenanigans, and having fun with em. Here are my two cents from the addon experience :

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warp-rider

Warp-rider clones don't seem to inherit your Weapon Folding sustain.
Through some addon shenanigans, I found out that tk bow does fire along with mainhand bow from clones.
So unless tk bows don't need beyond the flesh active to fire, I assume it has something to do with BtF being instant while Weapon Folding taking a turn.
If the clones stayed around, I'd have checked whether this is the case but the clones don't even appear on screen to begin with, so that's kinda hard to check. :?

Something I found a bit strange was how the Folds had different cd reduction set for each of em ; -1 for Fate, -4 for Warp, and -1 for Gravity.
Was it intended for Warp to proc more often then other folds? (In hindsight, I guess it might be due to the fact that Warp has 4 different effects that can proc?)

In any case, I really like the concept of warp rider ; focus on bumping and slashing while your clones do their job all the same.
Feels a bit like ranged flexible combat, actually.

If it wouldn't be too much to ask, would you consider adding support for astralinferno's Celestial Oddities addon, specifically regarding the Primal Chosen's folds?
I know it won't have any practical use aside from addon shenanigans, but having 6 folds proccing from both your char and the clones at even more absurd rate would feel pretty awesome. (On a side note, I wonder if TW folds and PC folds reduce each other's cd?)
That's besides the point tho, and again, I know it serves almost no purpose in most runs, but I just had to ask.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zephyr

Feels pretty fun, especially when you have Warp-rider clones shooting everytime you bump, now with lightning zaps attached to em. (Yes, I can't restrain myself from the addon shenanigans, sue me. )
Felt like a shift from minmay's AB-like shoot-proc style to less frequent, but more reliable procs.

Nothing much to say about it other than that, though I was wondering if the instant projectile concept of minmay's zephyr could be adopted as well, since it just feels much better for enemies to not just walk past my arrows. (Though I'm not sure how that would work with projectile speed increasing/decreasing effect on certain talents.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Never really was a fan of doomed since... ever, so not sure when I'd try out hollowed, nor the gourmand, but the other two were definitely very enjoyable.

Thanks for the great addon!

they do. :)

if rec wants to do as you suggested, the relevant short names are INFERNO_FOLD_FATE_2 (temporal damage), INFERNO_FOLD_ENTROPY (1/2 each darkness/temporal), and INFERNO_FOLD_MOONLIGHT.

One more question regarding Warp-rider; do warp-rider clones also come packed with warden call memory issue?

And if so, would warden call fix addons such as this https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/anoth ... s-call-fix provide solution to that?
Not sure if warp rider uses same clones as warden call, tho.

If warp rider clones do cause memory-issue, but the addon cannot solve this, would a similar approach provide solution to this?

I imagine this could also fix the issue with weapon folding sustain not working on the clones, but I'm not sure how it would interact with multiple bow clone procs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note, if you, through addon shenanigans, get psyshot talent and the warp-rider evolution, and wield a gun+mindstar in second weapon slot (or both, I suppose), would clones land mindstar hits with their attacks?

More importantly, would those clone mindstar attacks proc yet another clone to shoot&mindstar hit, resulting in clone recursion fiasco?

edit : Some observations after playtesting :
The clones do not inherit your sustains, or at least ones which take a turn to activate. BtF works but not sure if other instant sustains also work.
Psyshot+warp rider does indeed get clone procs from shoot-induced mindstar hits. The clones do mindstar attacks as well.
An interesting interaction I observed was that the clones still work when I didn't equip anything on the secondary slot ; they just attack with your main slot weapons.
Clone recursion doesn't seem to be a thing (aww).
