Duplicate addons on Steam; now what do I do?
Crap... so I made another futile attempt at updating ZOmnibus on Steam, and ran into the same problem as before: Steam put it up as a separate DLC item instead of updating the existing item. Now what do I do? If I delete it, I'll no doubt run into the same problem I had before, being unable to upload the addon again. (In fact, it's probably too late to delete it now; no doubt by now people have already subscribed to it.) If I leave it, people subscribed to the old ZOmnibus copy won't get updates to the new ZOmnibus copy. And even if I leave it there and somehow manage to announce to all the existing subcribers, "Hey, go subcribe to this other copy instead; We Apologize for the Inconvenience™", trying to do that for 21 addons is going to make a right mess. Is there any way at all to hit Steam over the head and force it to update the existing addon instead of creating a new addon?

DG put in a "Steam Publish ID" field on the te4.org page where you can enter the Steam # for your addon. This should link them back up, if it's what I think it is.

[checks] Well, a quick sweep through my addons on te4.org shows that some of them have missing or incorrect Steam IDs, notably ZOmnibus. It appears to be using them at least to populate the "This Addon on Steam's Workshop" link on the te4.org addon page. I've fixed all my Steam IDs; we'll see if that helps... [sound F/X: Steam upload] ...holy crap, I think it worked! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I went ahead and deleted the spurious copy of ZOmnibus; to anyone who subscribed to it during the hour or so that it was up, We Apologize for the Inconvenience™. *whew* Okay, it's going on midnight local time, so I'll worry about updating all my other addons later.Marson wrote:DG put in a "Steam Publish ID" field on the te4.org page where you can enter the Steam # for your addon.
