This addon replaces the normal tooltip for actors in TOME with a more detailed description of monster abilities and characteristics. It adds to the standard tooltip detailed information on speed, main-hand, off-hand, and ranged damage, plus damage modifiers, including damage penetration. This makes it much easier to inspect multiple monsters and quickly identify the most threatening.

A new tab appears in Game Options that let's you configure settings including some optional information. You can specify the meta-key to use to select the second tooltip page (control, shift, or alt) containing additional information on the targetted actor, including it's status immunities and talents. Also, depending on what options are chosen. terrain tooltips can now display information on temporary terrain features like smoke and darkness, and spell effects like inferno and acidic vapors:

It can be downloaded at:

It should be safe to use with other addons. It might be disabled by addons that change monster tooltips or it might disable those changes. I don't expect any game play affects.

When i am using this the Power and Save line seem slightly messed up, each just going onto the next line.

Windows 7-64, 1920x1200 screen res, shockbolt 48x48 or 64x64 tilesite.

Edit: Forgot to say, other than this looking much better and more helpful than the origional tooltip.

Edit2: While i'm being a nuisance, it there any way that if you have the tooltip open and press shift it changes to the talent/imunities view without having to move the mouse off/on the monster again?

Not nuisance at all. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm having trouble duplicatng the wrap around problem. Note that the tooltip, by default, is automatically re-sized based on the text. Do you have any other non-default settings that might be contributing to this?

As far as making the tooltip respond instantly to pressing a key, it should be possible, but how desirable is it? While it's a little inconvenient to have to move the mouse back and forth, I'd prefer not to have to hold down a key while reading the talent list.

Edit:
After further checking, I found that certain combinations of interface styles with large fonts can cause the tooltip to exceed a hard coded maximum width of 300 pixels. I'll reformat a few fields and see if I can trim down the long lines so that they don't wrap.

I've reformatted the tooltip a little bit to hopefully keep it from getting too wide with large fonts.

You can download it here:

Let me know if you still see the wrap around issue.

Maybe it's a case of being new to using addons, but the 43 version doesn't seem to work for me at all. I still have the old tooltips after dropping the file in the addon folder, and tried both Auto and Manual activation in the main menu.

Anything else I can try?

Update: Found your post about the new "feature" of characters being tied to addons. Tried it with a new character and it works great. Nice work!

I've posted an update for ToME 1.0.0RC1:

http://te4.org/games/addons/tome/plenum ... ed-actor-t

Added a small tweak to weapon damage. Note that the tooltip rounds off damage, while the character screen rounds it down.
