Post subject:  OPrmic the demolisher - Insane Adventure Win

This character is more like to proof of concept. So, the concept is to pick Arcane Amplification Drone, The Black Plate and Static Field and somehow make it work. Drone has HUGE hp pool, static field deals up to 36% of that damage, Link of pain transmit 76% of it to the target, moreso ignored their resists. And with investment in Nature's Balance, Static Field can be used twice. The damage of that combo is more than enough to any enemy on insane. As you can see below, it works well to the point where I literally oneshotted Atamathon. Damn, those numbers can even 2-3 shot madness atamathon, if someone want to try it before nerf.

The serious downside of the build is you have to use Items Vault or pray RNG. I gave up and vaulted The Black Plate at level 48.

I've made a stream for Slime Tunnels - High peak - Final fight. You can find videos links below.

A few notes to run:

Unfortunately I've lost connection on very start of high peak 3. What happened when stream reconnecting is: demon vault was in LoS right away I climbed on lvl 3, then I rushed on them, and get TPed by dark portal in the middle.

Then I managed to die on high peak (3) at 6m. There were options to retreat, but I played agressively, and therefore was gutted. Maybe the second Heroism infusion saved me. Anyway, I still had a one extra life and blood of life and ring of the dead.

Also you can see some insanely scaled gunslinger unique threw static net on me with -125% res all.

Echoes of the Past can combo with Static Field on AAD too, though that's not useful for Wyrmic.

How about this for proof of concept:

Choose brawler

Hit level 30 and get AAD

Use touch of death on it

480000 phys damage in radius 4 around it when it dies

Touch of Death isn't a spell, AAD specifically notes that it affects spells. Don't think this will work, but I haven't tested it, so who knows.

I believe the idea is that Touch of Death deals area physical damage based on the max hp of the actor killed. So if you managed to kill the AAD whie it was under the effect it would do damage as Dadito said. However, that would require killing the AAD in the first place, which seems... hard? Even it not, if you can do enough damage to kill the AAD then you don't need this interaction anyway.

edit: Unless the removal of the AAD when its duration expires counts as "death" for the purposes of Touch of Death.

Good point. It's not likely to be useful at any point, but you've got me intrigued. Anybody want to play with this in devmode?

Mind explain why it's not likely to be useful at any point? Can confirm, it works in dev mode.


Upgrade for my combo: Get stone alchemy/stone touch (Alchemist escort category, should unlock and pick last talent). Cast it on drone before static field (for instakill at 30%+ dmg in single hit). And voila - up to 900 000+ dmg.

Well if the Drone despawning counts as death then it's totally useful... I didn't expect that to be the case. If that were not the case, then it wouldn't be useful since you're not likely to be able to kill your Amp Drone normally. However, as it stands, that's EXTRA AWESOME AND BROKEN.

A very smart play indeed...!

...And it turns out madness viable. Only downside, which is quite a severe one to be fair and what overall makes me think this is still reasonably okay, although it at first sounds totally OP: the skill is on a 20 turn cooldown, and for Wyrmic remains single target, and so fighting the hoards of enemies can be hard, especially when facing 2-4 uniques / randbosses in non-digging areas.

The Brawler version just sound broken to be fair, and as Pseudo suggested I really think it should be a 'despawn' rather than a 'death' when it disappears.
