Recently ate a sandworm queen heart and opened the class so though I might as well try one out. I expect to have some deaths with new class but this is ridiculous, I cannot even finish the first level of the first dungeon with my elf. (why no regeneration infusion to start?, that's just mean)

Decided maybe the problem was do not become viable until a little higher in level so switched to dwarf for the free tank, cant get past the 3rd level unique ) Argh!

Shield rune is very nice too but you got to learn to use it; It's a proactive defense instead of a reactive defense

Dwarves and Shaloren both have a very hard start. Higher and Thaloren make good Wyrmics, since both of their racial talents scale with Willpower.

EDIT: Wyrmics are hard to start, though; they begin with no disabling talents and no way to deal damage that's not melee weapon-based. Judicious use of Lightning Speed should let you run away if you get into a bad spot, though you have to use it early because it takes a turn, which I always thought was weird.

Number one advice for pretty much anyone starting to play as shalore is to turn right back around and go up the stairs as soon as you start. At most, clear out the first level if you don't know more-or-less exactly what you're doing, so you don't lose any potentially good items. Then go over and murder either Norgos or Prox.

Dwarves... if you can get to the boss, you're fine. As wyrmic, pop lightning speed and just run past Brotoq. Then go up the stairs, and see shalore advice for what to do after going up stairs. You don't have to kill brotoq to escape, and you can come back later and kill 'im for the XP and loot.

If a wyrmic can get itself to level four (i.e. Kill one boss.), they get a lot more leeway -- icy skin lets you mostly tank the first tier dungeons, getting you to a good level ten or twelve, and opening up a lot of possibilities as skills and such go.

Never even thought of that one.

Norgan is also a good distraction when making a mad dash.
