 Post subject: true roguelike modes?

I have not played Tome 4 much: it is slow on my video card. Is there or will there be text mode and even console mode? Tiles are fun just to see but can make serious games hard if you do not know what stuff is and do not want to use 'look' all the time.

I recall last time I played, text boxes were popping up. I wish there was a way to turn them off: it made play difficult. A mouse is nice, but if everything must be like windoze, that is overkill.

If a game does not allow text mode, to me it is not truly roguelike.

Try the latest beta, you can change it run in ASCII mode (which is what I do).

Although you will still get some popups iy is much better than it has been (or maybe I am getting used to them!)
