I was curious (and greedy) after getting a few escorts with +2 wis as an option after reaching 60 wisdom. Not surprisingly, choosing to gain stats when you're already at the cap does nothing, wasting the reward. It's pretty reasonable that escorts wouldn't let you break the cap, but it probably shouldn't give you the option.

Actually, the stat boost is not wasted. Stats come in two forms: Base and Effective.

Base stats are shown on the right (in parenthesis), and are increased by stat points, with a cap of 60. Base stats can only be changed by stat points, and are not used in calculations.

Effective stats are shown on the left, and are increased by all sources. This includes equipment, talents, escorts, and base stats. Effective stats have no cap, and are used in all calculations.

Not a bug, it adds to effective willpower and not base as 64legos stated.

Ah, my mistake. I didn't even think to take off my gear and check what my naked effective willpower was. Definitely not a serious issue, then, though I can imagine a tooltip that breaks down your stat gains being interesting (if not necessarily worth its complexity).

it's wiiiiiillpower

Wisdom is the traditional Nature Affinity Stat, perhaps, but Willpower is a lot more than that. It increases your max Stamina, Psi, and Mana, as well as reducing mistake-chance with Nature-Gifts and Paradox-using talents. It also gives you Mental Save and Magic Save (IIRC). So don't call it Wisdom. Call it WILLPOWER!

He fixed it in his second post. There's no point in correcting a an already correct correction.
