This is the second lvl 40 something character I lose to this bug which happens on entering orcs fortresses (which also corrupt the savegame), so pretty sure I won't be playing anymore Tome any longer, since I see report of this bug online dating back to 2012, 5 years ago, and still happening.
The only "mod" I am using it the official SteamUI.

It was stuck several minute so I had to forcefully quit the process, on coming back to that savegame this was the screen I got, totally broken save with a black screen.
A game that throw in the trashcan hours of a player effort with no respect just like this I believe is not worth playing in the first place.

First I'm sorry for your loss. Now no you didnt see the same bug in 2012. Sure the end effect may very well be the same, it does in no way indicates the same bug though.
Now if you could post the te4_log.txt file from the crash, and the savefile I could have some hope of finding & fixing that (I may even be able to resurrect the char but I cant promise that)

Sure I can do that, and my apologize for my harsh way of reporting a bug but ending the run that way frustrated me quite a bit :lol:

Having same issue. Any time I try to progress in the game, sooner or later (rather sooner; happened in norgos lair, trollmire, twice in old forest so far). Reinstalled, same issue, 1.5.2. Can send you the log if needed.

I had reinstalled too after the first time it happened, so we can probably say it has nothing to do with that.
Out of curiosity, do you have a logitech mouse? Both time when the error happened, the error log box showed something about "mouse", so I was wondering... :|

-- after which the usual online/profile saving process, just never finishes to bring me to the next level, upon killing process and trying again i am on the next level but stuck and can't do anything, and the visual thing is weird - only showing me some lighted wall tiles somewhere on the map. Just got the same bug. This is very frustrating.

I'm new to this game and the character was the longest one i had so far; a lvl45. Got the bug when entering on the vor pride; stuck on loading zone, closed the game, when loading the game again, black screen and lua errors just like described the OP.

Please fix. If possible with character retrieving.

Some considerations; the character seems to be on the world map, but any action that involves moving causes a lua error. If you try to use the recall rod, it actually works, but the timer stay on the 40ties and the game days start to pass. My guess is that the game seems weirdly stuck the character between a normal zone (which tried to enter on the first place) and world map and that causes the lua error and the other anomalies. Something among those lines.
