Ghoul's first racial gives "You can never take a blow that deals more than 50% of your maximum life." at TL 5. Sacrificing a Bone Giant gives a similar effect "You make a temporary shield around you that prevents any attacks from doing more than 22.5% (-16.5% per TL) of your total life". I'm just wondering how these work together, and how these factor in resistances, negative health and how something like Displacement Shield works with these. Would the Displacement Shield just "take" the full hit, warp that damage and any remainder is reduced afterwards (So the remainder couldn't do more than 50% max HP)?

The other thing I was wondering about is that Gnaw can create Ghouls at TL 5. I was wondering if any of the Necromancer abilities synergize with these Ghouls. Like would these Ghouls be stronger from Create Minions TL?

I originally made this in ToME4 >> Spoilers >> Mages, but I think think just Spoilers is more appropriate for asking spoiler related questions. So I deleted the previous thread and remade it here.

I have another Necromancer related question: What happens when you die with both Lichform active and the Rak'Shor's Cunning prodigy? Could you potentially become a Ghoul or Skeleton Lich?

1) "...never more than..."
they both are "if" then "reduce to", based on your max hp. not by %, not by number, to.
i think the the better one will apply and the other will cry in the corner for being useless.
although never tried myself. i think sun paladin has a similar effect in "cloak of the sun" in its sun class category.

2) gnaw Ghouls
no, unless someone specifically ensured that they would.
they may be named the same, and they may be both undead, but code-wise, they are different entities.
the "blighted summoning" even makes the differentiation.

3) which litch
... what? i don't have embers so someone else would have to answer for sure but...
both are undead, and transition doesn't change any of the stats or properties that aren't mentioned.
while name would have to be either or, pretty sure the stat gain would just stack, and you would get both.

My guess is probably lich form will activate and save your life... And then Rak'shor will be useless because you'll be undead then. But I have no idea and this sounds like a wonderful circumstance to test in dev mode.

Thanks for the answers! If the Lich thing works that would be really awesome. I don't have Embers either, I was just looking at the wiki. Theoretically you could start Cornac and get a free Cat point on top of that as well.
