So, we all know chests drop great loot, anywhere from a super fantastic gem to a really amazing white inscription.

can this please not happen, at least have the inscription spawn with an ego so that it might be useful. As for gems, they could just not drop from chests.

I think it's fine as it is except when the chest has a group of enemies pop out that doesn't include a rare or higher. A lot of the time, the real reward is from defeating the enemies, but if it's a bunch of regular bandits and it drops a gem then that's pretty useless sadly.

I stopped opening chests a long time ago, because the rewards didn't outweigh the risks.

Also infusions that spawn from chests seem to be generated at min value? I've seen very small healing infs and regen infs.

I think keeping gems, infusions, gold, etc. in chests is a good thing. However I think that to make them more worth the pickup there should be more of them in the chest. Slightly less or as many as in some vaults, perhaps.

ah yes i would love to pick up 50 healing infusions with a max heal of 10

Knowing Tinkers also turns that into a lot of chances for shematics/injectors/generators, but I get what you're saying.

With infusions/runes, I would definitely approve of a higher chance of more rare ones to drop than what you would find in a normal pickup to (hopefully) balance these out. Like Heroism for instance. The availability of more powerful ones when talking base stats would help a great deal too.

Infusions/runes/gems/whatever spawning in equipment drops instead of alone is another idea that has some merit.
