Counter Attack on Dodge with Block Skill

I like the new block skill you get from shields, but I found when having a high defense character it is often not very useful as monsters often miss. I think this skill would be much better if you were able to also counterattack if a monster missed as well as if you blocked the damage.

Block sets your defense to 0 to counteract having a high defense.

In other words, dodging with miss and what not and blocking are mutually exclusive.

Hmmm interesting. I'll have to do some more testing, but I was sure I had seen many misses while blocking.

If a monster has very low accuracy it might miss anyway. It takes 20 accuracy to reliably hit 0 defense and even then I believe there's a 5% miss chance.

Just tested and when using block I still have a defense value when Shield Wall is up. It is reduced, but still enough to cause some enemies to miss. With shield wall down it does indeed go down to zero. Sounds like a bug maybe?

Sorry, it reduces your defense by the block value on the shield (I had to check the code). As you get better shields (some have over 100 block) you should see this disappear.

At low levels with high defense and a crappy shield you can see your defense stay above 0.
