Hello everybody.
I have been playing this game (and nothing much else) for past 2,5 years, exclusively on permadeath setting. However, it would seem that I am pretty bad at it and do not wish to improve, as I dislike the endgame.
Following that logic, I downloaded addons unlocking all races/classes and difficulty settings a few weeks ago.
It turns out I absolutely love playing the unfinished Runic Golem on Madness permadeath setting.
It is difficult though; because of the 50% experience penalty and hostility of every NPC I only managed to pass level 10 a handful of times.
Now, I have a couple of questions:
1. Am I alone? Does anybody else find this type of gameplay appealing?
2. Are there any ways to solve game-breaking bugs? They usually happen when generating the level or facing a summoner.
3. Is there any way to use my golem in Embers of Rage campaign? If I could mix them up, I do not think I'd ever get bored.
4. Any potential tips and strategies that could help me figure out how to proggress? So far I'm still trying to figure out the best zone order. So far my best guess is:
swamp 1st boss -> ruins of Kor'Pul -> swamp 2nd boss -> three smaller towns -> Rhaloren's Camp -> Scintillating Caves.
I haven't gone further, but by this point I usually have around 50ish rare/unique/boss monsters under my belt and get overwhelmed by their sheer volume.
Thank you for reading.

I don't think Runic Golem is supposed to be playable.
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

You are right, so please don't tell the cops and/or my mom.
I'd still love to hear some survival tips; so far I figured out you can use being hunted to bait bosses (with 3% per turn chance) to pre-dug structures and that towns are easier to take out than normal maps.

Not going to lie, this sounds like the least fun way to play ToME.
