Also as bad as undead starting zone is, at least it doesn't drop you into T1 zones where your survival is actually 100% RNG dependent, and you can lose 2 escorts before even starting the game properly.

It's really not bad at all, the enemies are a non-issue. I was even level 4 by the time I got to the giant so I had bone shield.

Its not the zone, its the sometimes unavoidable boss that you can kill only if he rolls a shit tier class as a boss. I.E. Bulwark and his only talent is GWF.

I'm sure I did nerf the boss a lot. This sounds like a problem with how Insane does things.

Mex: If Undead are a challenge race because of the "difficulty to unlock" does that mean that Ogres are as well?

Position yourself so that you can dance around corners while waiting for shield cd and it doesn't matter if it's a mage or not. I just cleared an easy vault.

I've beaten the boss many times as a Demonologist.

To me, the evil thing about that start isn't the boss; it's that undead need a specific escort, which leads to a lot of startscumming.
