To preface this, this is an idea I (and a bunch of other users in #tome on the roguelikes discord) had. We came up with a bunch of ideas for contests and the like and we figured this was the easiest one to implement

So, the aim of the game is to defeat the master in dreadfell with a given set of talent trees. You can play on any difficulty, with any race, and any non-cheaty addons (if you have to ask, its probably a cheat addon)

To put the rules in a more readable format:
No cheat addons, this includes: Hulk, any form of choose escorts (no ez mode tinkers anyways), any addon that modifies adventurer for a non QoL reason, any addon that modifies the number of points you receive on level up, etc.
Obviously, no cheating. Don't hack your all damage values to 100000%. Thank you.
Play online so the character is in the char vault. Makes it easy to track wins.
No use of the vault please. Pulling out Sawrd might make your run easy, but it also makes it too easy.
Beat master, win challenge. I don't care what you do after that.
Use only the specified trees. No escort trees (though their talents are fine). Yes, this includes tinkers, because they come from an escort. Antimagic and fungus are fine.
Play on any difficulty you like, on any permadeath setting (some worth more than others).
Points will be obtained from a win and I'll put them into a spreadsheet(for posterity). Higher difficulty/harder permadeath means more points.
All exploration wins are worth 1 point, easier wins are worth 0.
Pick any vanilla race you want, class is always weekly adventurer.
Points are "elitism points", courtesy of dado. Elitism points are earned by completing the challenge. You are awarded 2 point for Normal, 4 points for Nightmare, 8 points for Insane. Playing on roguelike awards +2 points.

When you win, just drop your charsheet here, we'll add it to the spreadsheet.

So, the way this works is that you download this addon (version 1.0.3): https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/weekly-adventurer
and you click on the weekly adventurer class (highly suggest picking your race first so you don't get the popup twice).
Once you do that, you get a popup that says "enter seed," this weeks happens to be: madnessdoesntexist
Just hit yes and you're good to go! Yes, some trees will be unlocked automatically. That's fine. Good luck and have fun!

Also one other thing, more of minmay's idea than my own, but if you would like to, as an addon creator, submit trees from your own addon, then I would love to add them to the random selection process.
Sidenote: If you're using the steam version of the addon, steam wasn't letting me upload 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 or 1.0.3, so you'll have to manually download it.

Thanks for the post. I'll add some things about submitting trees:

- It has to be a full 4-talent tree, not just a single talent.
- You can volunteer any talent tree(s) you want, and any number of trees you want, as long as it is your own work. Don't volunteer trees from other people's addons.
- Micbran is running the challenge, so Micbran decides whether or not a tree gets added. I don't.
- You will get credit in the addon description, but probably not in-game.
- If your tree includes commensurate changes to items (e.g. adding talent mastery for your category to fixedarts), you need to tell us. I can add those changes to the addon and make them only apply when Weekly Adventurer is actually selected, but I need to know that the changes exist.
- If your tree has known bugs, you also need to tell us. It makes it easier to fix them, and trees with bugs I can't easily fix are not likely to be added.

Micbran, I'd like to suggest that you make a separate thread in the Addons forum for submitting talent trees.

I basically dove every single dungeon, including Dreadfell. The trees this time around are pretty overpowered and allow for straightforward play.

Nice job, I spent less time fiddling with this one and just sorta rolled a few and went with the most OP to make up for the train wreck of 4 necro trees last time. I’d like the next challenges to be more difficult than this, for future reference.

I made the trees 1.3 mastery because that's what most players will be accustomed to for most talent categories. It's easy to change in future versions if needed. (This was part of the motivation behind making a dedicated addon; it lets us easily tweak things like this, as well as number of starting category/class/generic points, etc.)

Survival being the exception with 1.00 mastery is also intentional. The mean Survival mastery for vanilla classes is 1.04; only Rogue, Marauder, and Skirmisher have 1.3. That said, it could obviously be changed to 1.3 without much consequence.

I take it the previous caveat about trainable talent trees still applies? Yes to mindstar mastery, staff combat and the shoot talent? Otherwise anyone that goes with the sling talents is a little inconvenienced this run, due to the lack of the shoot talent. I would suggest adding this as a known talent from birth, in fact.

In fact, every Weekly Adventurer currently starts with Mindstar Mastery and Staff Combat unlocked, in an attempt to avoid shoehorning you into one weapon type.

Not starting with the Shoot talent was an oversight that will be fixed in the next version.

Done. Cornac on Normal Adventure, again. Zero deaths this time, though. Basically rushed the whole way through the t1's and t2's and went straight to Dredfell. Like tabs said, the talents this time around were pretty powerful.

This week's random adventurer is probably more optimized then any of the adventurer builds that I've tried in the past. I'm probably going to continue playing this character, who feels absurdly strong.
