Ok, I intend of dwelling deep into ToMe... so I read some articles and noticed an easy way to get to level 20 with an alchemist... now I cannot find this eagle and dragon anywhere and tried at least 50 times... where is it exactly and how do you get there at level 1?
I also tried a DeathMold and I start in a dungeon with lvl 90 monsters instead of town?
Also, suggest a good race/class combination for a complete starter?

Its best to be level 6 or 11 before wandering the world map, that way you won't get ambushed (6 for grass, 11 for swamp).
Easiest astarting character is probably a Rohanknight paladin.
- Rohanknight = racial speed bonus
- Paladin = fighter with detection via the Mindcraft

Very important: in the character screen 'C', you can adjust your speed(E) and tactics(T). In the early levels a melee character usually want to be Running/Beserk.

I never bother with the power levelling. I do the thieves quest in town, and then the barrow downs, and then usually the orc caves.

The eagles sometimes show up in the mountains or at Angband. Alchemists can get to level 20 using them, but it is not a good way to learn how to play the game.

If you started at level 98, then you were playing a Lost Soul. You will need to get all of the way back up to level 0 to get out of the Halls of Mandos. Don't try this unless you are very experienced or want to have a very short game (or both). Death molds are the easiest race to get out with once you learn how they move and how they can pick up stuff. But mostly you will just get killed.

I think that the easiest character to learn to play is a swordmaster. Pick a race that is tough- Rohan Kinght for speed or a troll for hit points. Adjust your speed and tactics like Budswell said, do the thieves quest (use the dagger you get there), buy some scrools of word of recall, and then do the barrowdowns. If you survive that, do the orc caves and use the three pieces of equipment you will find hidden on the special level.

The only amendment to Yottle's advice I would add is that when you wield the dagger on the floor in the thieves quest room, watch your HP. There is one kind of (rare) dagger that can be generated that drains your HP, which is obviously a Bad Thing. If you get that one, ID it in Bree and sell it for a pile of cash and buy a good dagger or main gauche or rapier from the weapon shop (it's counter-intuitive, but light swords are much better for damage in the early going).

In that case, you mostly would want pluses in the very early going, so a main gauche of slay dragon (+2, +3) is actually less desirable than a rapier (+6, +6) even though it costs more.
